Email configuration is for you to deliver log reports. Both "Send To" and "Send From" are your own emails. You need one email to send reports and the other to receive them.
Generally speaking, you can use any email for "Send To". And you can use any email for "Send From" as long as it supports SMTP (Simple Message Transfer Protocol). Therefore, you can't use an email like Hotmail because it is web-based and doesn't support SMTP. If you are not sure about your own email, please consult your ISP for more information. Otherwise, you can also try Gmail.* It supports SMTP and it is free.
1. Send To: receiver's email address
2. Send From: sender's email address. Note: many email servers only accept different "Send From" and "Send To" address.
3. Username: user ID of "Send From" email. Note: many SMTP servers use full email address as username, like "your_username@emailserver.com".
4. Password: login password of "Send From" email.
5. SMTP Host: host name of "Send From" email, like "smtp.emailserver.com" or "mail.emailserver.com". Note: SMTP is a must when you choose an emailbox to receive your reports.
6. SMTP Port: port number of the "SMTP Host". Most SMTP servers use port "25".
7. Report Title: subject of the email containing your logging report.
If you are not sure about 2-6, please consult your ISP for above information. |
